SuburbanUsing the same items like Vinegar for cleaning the house & the vehicle saves everyone time, money & health plus the added peace of mind knowing that using these products is safe for you, your family & the environment. This article is for cleaning your vehicle fast, easy & effectively using DIY safe natural cleaning products.

glassDIY clean ceilings: How to Green & Healthy, but if you are new to DIY cleaning & my blog series you might ask: Are these DIY ideas as effective to kill germs, fungus  &  bacteria  like commercial cleaning  products do?

Again as always I say: YES! You bet they are! But by now you have read all my reasons why (like I could really list them all) And I hope you have looked up all the info provided in blog posts 1 -8, as I always say, research, research, research! If you ask me I will very fast tell you DIY green cleaning is down right amazing, then add to that we get sick so very rarely so that’s a big clue to them not compromising our immune system & them working. I also have known many friends who while switching to DIY natural cleaners saw their health improve greatly.

Now Lets get cleaning those vehicles!

Spot treat (in a spray bottle)
3 parts water to 1 part lemon juice, 1 part peroxide.
what I do for most stains is just spray the stain/spot, work in with a toothbrush or wash cloth & if needed spray with clean water from another spray bottle, blot up wetness.

Spot stain cleaner
Make a baking soda & vinegar paste, or a baking soda & peroxide paste, or a baking soda peroxide & lemon juice paste. Options add eucalyptus &/or lemon essential oil to paste
Work paste into stain with a sponge, brush or toothbrush, allow to dry & vacuum up, some stains may require several applications, for a really tough stain spray spot first with vinegar or peroxide.

DIY Natural Antibacterial Cleaning Wipes:
In a bowl combine 2 cups of warm/hot water with 2 tbsp of Borax, stir till dissolved.
Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar,
1/2 cup of lemon juice,
10 drops of tea tree oil
5 drops of 1 essential oil of choice (lavender, orange, lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus)
Use a plastic or glass seal tight container or leftover baby wipe container etc.
You can use cut up T Shirts, or use wash-clothes or a roll of paper towels cut in half etc, put in container & pour mixture over it.
Options to add: 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, 1/4 cup colloidal silver &/or replace vinegar with peroxide. These are a multi purpose cleaning wipe safe for use around little ones.

Chrome Cleaner
What You Need:
White vinegar
Water
A spray bottle
A sponge or cleaning rag
Mix together equal parts white vinegar and water. Then, spray it on your wheels; and work it in with a sponge or cleaning rag.
Note: Vinegar should not be used on aluminum alloys. (article here)

To replace Turtle Wax: You can make a simple homemade car wax by mixing together a combination of  beeswax, carnauba wax, turpentine and pine oil. About 2 tablespoons of beeswax  should be melted and mixed into 8 ounces of carnauba wax. After allowing this  mixture to cool, you can then mix in about 16 ounces of turpentine and a  tablespoon of pine oil. This should make a nice non-abrasive car wax that you  can simply apply to your car like you would any other car wax. (article here)Suburban

For oil or grease clean up on floors or seats: Sprinkle corn starch or corn starch & baking soda on to soak up & wipe off or vacuum up.

Car wash solution #1.
1 to 3 cups white vinegar, 1 tbsp of corn starch in a gallon or 2 of hot water, wash & rinse as normal.

Car wash solution #2.
Hot water in a bucket add 1/2 cup Borax & a squirt of  liquid soap

Car wash solution #3.
A bucket of warm water, just a squirt of  liquid soap

Squeaky doors
Use olive oil or Coconut oil just as you would WD40

Soda or milk spills: If you find yourself in this mess try peroxide, lemon juice & water in equal amounts in a spray bottle (spot test first), you can also try baking soda & warm water paste.

Hand Sanitizer to keep in glove box: Use a small spray bottle with either straight white vinegar, straight colloidal silver or straight rubbing alcohol, (or a combo of these) you can also add Lavender, Tea tree, Lemon or Eucalyptus essential oils, or make a spray with one or all these essential oils in distilled water, simply spray on hands or surfaces to sanitize.

Tire cleaner:
Peroxide, lemon juice & baking soda in a paste with a scrub brush, repeat if needed, can also use borax.

Window, Chrome and Interior Cleaner
Vinegar can be used to clean windows,  interior surfaces and chrome. In a spray bottle, mix equal parts of water and  white vinegar.
For windows, spray on the solution and allow it to sit for a few minutes.  Then wipe the window dry with paper towels or newspaper. Newspaper is a great  option because it will not leave behind lint particles that a cloth or paper  towel may leave behind.
Repeat the same procedure on tire chrome; spray directly onto the chrome,  then rub in with a sponge or rag. No rinsing required.
For the car interior, spray this solution onto the dashboard, and wipe clean  with a cloth. The solution works well on vinyl, plastic, and  leather. (article here)

Headlight cover cleaner, for bugs, grime, yellowing & cloudiness:
Use one of these pastes, ~baking soda & water, ~baking soda & peroxide, ~baking soda, borax & water & scrub surface of the cover inside & out if needed, use a dry wash cloth & or a toothbrush to get in all areas, then simply wash off, repeat if needed.
