I love growing our own sprouts & I love sprouts. Little tender nutrient packed bits of goodness that even my kids love. I was so happy to find these organic non GMO seeds by VREMI for sprouting, I got the beet seeds but they also offer organic – broccoli seeds, beet seeds, radish seeds, mustard seeds as well as mix packs. The instructions on the box are simple to follow. I started sprouts 2 ways just like I always do. I started some in a covered jar & some on a plate. I only started mine yesterday so they have not sprouted yet, so I will update a picture when they do.
The quality of the beet seeds are so great I even jumped the gun & ate a couple after soaking them overnight & the taste is great, so I can not wait for the sprouts. Some of our favorite uses for sprouts are in salads of course, but also on sandwiches, added to smoothies, juicing, cooking with in soups, on rice, with onions & mushrooms in stir fry, on foods we are eating. I love them on spaghetti & on top of chicken salad or better yet in a pita with some shredded chicken & homemade yogurt, oh yum, sprouts are even good on a peanut butter (or other nut butter) sandwich.
I love the gift box these beet sprouts came in, it really does set the mood for how great & even natural they are, perfect for gift giving. I opened them & just lined the bottom of the jar with seeds & added just enough water to wet them. Then I just shake out extra water several times a day & add fresh. So sprouting should happen soon if I do not eat all of the seeds first as I love soaked seeds.
