Lets make soup!
A great cookbook perfect for a soup loving large family
We love making homemade soups especially this time of the year. This cookbook could not have arrived at a better time, it arrived & the next day temps got frigid & we have basically been snowed in. So we decided to pull The Soup Club Cookbook out & try some recipes totally new to us. Wow I never expected to have a hard time deciding what to make first, would we make Borscht on page 104, or Turmeric & Greens soup on page 108, oh but wait maybe we should start by making Winter Squash & Sweet potato soup, oh the choices. We finally all agreed on the Chicken Tortilla soup because it sounded yummy #1 & because it was hearty with ingredients like chicken, onions, garlic, carrots, black beans, tomatoes, cheese, avocados & tortillas.
The recipe was easy to follow & before long the amazing scent of this soup filled our home, but of my did it taste amazing. It does make a lot but when you are a family of 8 you need a lot, we did have it for 2 meals & found ourselves wanting more.
This cookbook is a great addition to our collection & I like it has soups that sound great yet normal in a new way. From the moment you open the cover your mouth is watering & you have got to love that it was dedicated to the Moms of the writers. This book has 3 parts, Part One: How to be a soup club, Part two: All the soups & Part Three: Food for forks & fingers.
