More ides for disinfecting homemade cleaners (Part one)

Part one

One of the many great things about making your own cleaners is most recipes are naturally disinfecting, so you do not have the harsh, damaging effects of commercial disinfecting cleaners.

More ides for disinfecting homemade cleaners

If you search my blog it has a lot of choices for disinfecting spray cleaners, but I thought II would give you a few more choices.

Always label spray bottles, little chalk board labels work perfect.

All recipes are amount for 16 ounce glass spray bottle

Do not ever use vinegar, lemon juice, lemon EO or any citrus on natural stone, replace them in recipes with water, or peroxide or colloidal silver if to be used on stone.
I have a post with cleaners for natural stone & granite here.

Recipe one:

  • glass spray bottle
  • distilled white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon washing soda (or Borax)
  • 10 drops tea tree oil or Germ fighter EO blend
  • 1/2 cup hot tap water (not boiling just hot)

Add the washing soda & hot water to spray bottle, shake until dissolved (might not totally dissolve until cooled). Next add the tea tree oil & then fill rest of spray bottle with vinegar. Perfect for getting rid of grease & grime, but also great on most surfaces.

Recipe two:

  • glass spray bottle
  • 1/2 cup cheap vodka
  • distilled water
  • 15 drops Tea tree oil
  • 10 drops Eucalyptus EO
  • 10 drops Lavender EO

Mix the vodka & essential oils in a glass spray bottle, fill the rest of the way with distilled water. Put on sprayer & use all around the house.

Recipe three:

  • glass spray bottle
  • 3 tbsp colloidal silver
  • 10 drops thyme EO
  • 10 drops lemon EO
  • distilled water

Add Vodka & EO’s to spray bottle then fill spray bottle the rest of the way with distilled water. Great all around cleaner.

Recipe four:

  • glass spray bottle
  • 3 tbsp 91% isopropyl alcohol (or vodka)
  • 2 tbsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp natural liquid soap like castile soap (or Original blue Dawn dish soap)
  • distilled water

add the dried thyme to a mug & then pour the alcohol over it making sure it is wet (it will turn green). Let sit over night & strain out the alcohol, add the alcohol to spray bottle, add liquid soap then fill spray bottle the rest of the way with distilled water. A all around cleaner that even shines.

Recipe five:

  • Glass spray bottle
  • 1/3 cup of vinegar
  • 1/3 cup of vodka
  • 8 drops GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract)
  • 5 drops lemon EO
  • 10 drops tea tree oil
  • Hot tap water (not boiling but hot)

Add everything to spray bottle followed bu almost filling it up with hot water (leave room to shake). Use while still warm, great bathroom & toilet cleaner but also great all around the house.

Recipe six:

  • glass spray bottle
  • 1 tbsp Borax
  • warm water

Add the borax to spray bottle, fill half way with warm to hot tap water, shake until mostly dissolved, fill spray bottle the rest of the way with water (or vinegar). Use on counters, sink, to clean fridge, clean the whole kitchen & bathroom & more.

Recipe seven:

  • glass spray bottle
  • 8 to 12 drops Pine EO
  • 4 tbsp vodka (or isopropyl alcohol)
  • water

Add the pine EO & vodka to spray bottle, fill the rest of the way with water. Great all around cleaner & really has that great pine scent so many want.
