If you are like me you want to know what is in everything, you want the nitty gritty & you want to know the truth. This book gives me this information, yes I already knew most but it is a handy guide to have.
Patrick Di Justo takes a cold, hard, and incredibly funny look at the shocking, disgusting, and often dumbfounding ingredients found in everyday products, from Cool Whip and Tide Pods to Spam and Play-Doh.
What do a cup of coffee and cockroach pheromone have in common? How is Fix-A-Flat like sugarless gum? Is a Slim Jim meat stick really alive? If I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter isn’t butter, what is it?
This book for many can be an eye opener, breaking down what is in things you use & eat every day. Such as Febeze, Head & Shoulder Shampoo, Fix a Flat, Hostess Lemon Fruit Pie, Red Bull, Slim Jim, Tap Water, Coffee, Enfamil Baby Formula & so many more. You can go to page 208 & read about what is in Noxema (Pig Gelatin anyone? oh so thats why it works so great, I see). And just like every other item in the book after I read all the ingredients in any item I can then read the back story.
For me because I already avoid almost every product in this book it for sure helps me to whip it out & show my husband when he says I am crazy & something is not bad for us. It also helps when others ask me what is in something.
So for that I love this book & recommend it to those trying to eat clean & clean out the toxins from their homes. Very informative & it might make you chuckle or even squirm in your seat with disgust. I love it! If you have questions, get answers…..
