Lemonade can be tasty & healthy.
A refreshing drink you can make anytime of the year that kids love & you can change it up to make it just the way you want.
Lemons & Limes: If you read my blog post here on lemons & limes you can see how healthy they are & why using these fresh fruits can be a great boost to the immune system. Limes can be used with lemons or instead of lemons in any of the below recipes. Use the Bellemain stainless steel lemon press after cutting lemons (or limes) in half to make sure to get every drop without waste
Sweeteners: To keep these drinks healthier use natural sweeteners such as raw local honey, yacon syrup, pure maple syrup, molasses, sucanat or whole unbleached sugar.
Amounts: Liquid sweeteners such as the honey, yacon, syrup & molasses you would add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to any of the recipes. Dry sweeteners such as the sucanat & whole unbleached sugar add 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup for any of the recipes.
Water: Yes water is very important, do not use chlorinated water, jugged drinking water or fluoridated water. Use pure water, alkaline water, filtered water, reverse osmosis water, distilled water or spring water.
Recipes: All the below recipes are for a gallon of finished drink, to get the exact taste you prefer try adding less of the ingredients first & adding more as needed until you get the taste you want. Some like the drinks stronger than others, some like them sweeter than others.
Options: I mention a few in the recipes below but adding extras for flavor & health to lemonade can give you so many taste options. Such as slices of fresh ginger, chunks of fresh or frozen cut up watermelon, adding frozen halved grapes or frozen berries or cranberries, slices of kiwi, fresh mint leaves, fresh brewed & chilled teas like peppermint, green tea, orange, etc. Adding slices of oranges, grapefruit, lemon or lime also add flavor & look great. We also sometimes add fresh squeezed juices such as orange, cherry or watermelon.
Other ideas: You can make up this lemonade & freeze it to make healthy pops, you can add it to smoothies. You can also add 1 ounce colloidal silver to keep it fresh longer especially if taking to a picnic etc. Some people also like to add some sole water to their cup of lemonade. I also like to sometimes add 1/2 tbsp of coconut water vinegar or Bragg Apple cider vinegar to my glass of cold lemonade.
Kids: My kids love to make healthy drinks like lemonade when company is coming, it can be fun, educational & healthy for them. So say come on kids! My kids totally love these recipes & love getting to use the lemon press.
Lemonade basic recipe:

Step #2 – In your gallon jug add your fresh juice and about 4 cups of water & stir. Step #3 – Add the sugar water & stir. Step #4 – Now fill the jug up the rest of the way with water or water & ice.

Juices Lemons and Limes to the Last Drop
With one powerful plier motion, the nesting bowls squeeze every bit of juice from your lemon or lime; unlike reamers which force you to dig around and around, and still not get it all. The juice falls straight down onto your food, instead of squirting sideways. And even the tiniest seeds and bits of pith are trapped in the bowl.
