Argan oi is so amazing for skin & hair that I can not praise it enough.
No matter the brand whenever a new bottle of argan oil arrives & I must open it that minute, yes I am that way.
I must see, smell & feel it so I know I will love it.
What I want from my argan oil:
- To smell that natural argan oil scent I have come to love from quality brands.
- The look be pure & clean
- It needs to feel amazing, when rubbing it between my fingers and it absorbed into my skin hydrating, I want it to feel oily but not to oily (because it is oil)without being to heavy.
I love argan oil to use as a natural moisturizer for skin, hair & even nails both straight & in DIY recipes. Thats right argan oil is amazing in beauty & body recipes but do not be afraid to put a few drops in your hand & rub where needed for skin health, moisturizing, shiny healthy hair, sooth muscle pain, cracked heals, rough elbows, chapped lips/skin, sunburn, burns, skin issues, rashes & more. I love to take a few drops & massage it in small circles where needed.
Pure argan oil is a mild Anti-Bacterial with antioxidants & essential fatty acids & is rich in vitamins A, D, & E. Argan oil aids in the production of collagen, helps smooth wrinkles, reverses the damage from free radicals & will strengthen damaged hair as it absorbs fast so you wont feel greasy or oily.
One of my favorite ways to use argan oil is straight out of the bottle on my skin, but I also like to just add a drop or 2 of one of my favorite essential oil, such as:
- Peppermint for headaches,
- Eucalyptus for sore muscles,
- Rosemary for skin issues & rashes,
- Tea tree oil for cuts, wounds, acne, blackheads & pimples,
- Lavender for burns, on & on.
Argan oil Body Butter #1: 1/2 cup solid coconut oil, 1 to 3 tbsp argan oil, 10 to 30 drops of essential oil of choice.
Directions: Use the hand mixer with just one beater on it, & I add coconut oil, argan oil & essential oils in a pint or quart jar depending on how you are making & how long your beater is. Fill the jar 3/4 of the way full with the solid coconut oil & I add the other ingredients on top & blend right inside the jar for about 3 minutes whipping up into body butter. Then add more oil only if needed & mix again for a minute or 2, when finished just screw the lid on, the only clean up is the one beater. So you are mixing right in your storing container. Stays good about a year, does not need to be refrigerated but can melt if it gets to warm.
Directions: I mix this in the jar just like I do mixing the same way I mix the#1 recipe above, the difference is I start whipping the shea butter & essential oil & slowly add the argan oil & starch until it is the desired consistency.
Argan oil Conditioning Hair Mist: One small spray bottle, add 5 or 6 drops argan oil, 5 or 6 drops witch hazel & 1 tsp drops aloe vera gel per 3 ounces of Rose water, vinegar or purified water. Add 1 drop each of tea tree oil & peppermint essential oil.
Directions: Use on wet or dry hair, makes a great anti frizz spray & detangler, simply mist on & comb or brush in. Shake before each use. If making larger batches we like to add 1 tbsp of colloidal silver.
Argan oil Lip/Body scrub: 2 tbsp argan oil, 1 tbsp granulated sugar or natural unrefined salt, 4 drops of essential oil of choice.
Directions: Mix together & apply to damp skin, massage in a circular motion being gentle, rinse with warm water & towel dry
Argan oil Lip Balm: You need a small container with a lid big enough to put fingers in to apply balm, the trial size/travel section of many stores carry these. These recipe is usually a double batch, 1 tsp of argan oil per 2 tbsp of shea butter, with a drop or 2 of essential oil of choice.
Directions: Mix & store in airtight container, apply as needed to lips with fingers. Options to add drops of coconut oil &/or Jojoba oil but you will need to add extra shea butter possibly. Will melt in heat.
