Do it Yourself Brightening and Tightening Face Mask Recipe (DIY)

DIY Skin care is easy & effective

back nfr6k

So simple that all you need is an, a fresh lemon (or lime), raw honey & 2 bowls (ok a fork too).

Lets discuss each of these ingredients briefly. I know if you have been researching DIY skin care most recipes say to just use the egg white & if that is what you prefer that is fine. I prefer to not waste the best eggspart of the egg & use the whole egg for my face/skin, or I use the yolk in a hair mask. If you use the yolk for your face mask you do this in 2 steps but trust me it is worth it because the egg whites will draw out the  oils & the egg yolks moisturizes. Fresh lemon juice is best but you can use lemon juice concentrate, lemon is great for brightening skin & skin tone. Raw honey is optional but is great for using in skin care especially on skin issues,is antibacterial & very healing.

Step 1: Crack open your egg & put the egg white in one bowl & the egg yolk in the other bowl.

Step 2: To the bowl with the egg white add a good squeeze of lemon juice (approx 1 or 2 tsp), whisk till fluffy with fork.

Step 3: Wash face with warm wet wash cloth.lemon

Step 4: Apply your egg white mixture to your whole face not getting it in your mouth or eyes but as close as you can & allow to stay in skin until dry (15 to 20 minutes). & wash off  with warm wet wash cloth.

Step 5: To the bowl with the egg yolks add about 1/2 tsp of raw honey & whisk with fork until frothy. (using the egg yolks is optional you can use it as a hair mask if you prefer).

Step 6: Apply to face evenly again getting as close to eyes & mouth without getting any in them. Allow to sit on face 20 to 30 minutes then wash face with cool water  pat dry.

Step 7: You can if you desire after patting skin dry apply raw coconut oil, Argan oil, Rosehip oil, or another natural oil or DIY body butter.

tt honeyThis is great to do once or twice a month (or more) or you can do a shorter version daily (like 5 to 10 minutes each bowl) or you can combine all ingredients if you prefer. Thats part of what is so great about DIY skin care, make it your own. I also sometimes like to add a few drops of vitamin C serum to the first bowl & a few drops of Hyaluronic Acid to the second bowl

Essential oils: You can add essential oils if you prefer but try to use only 1 or 2 drops, just a few great essential oils for skin care are rosemary, lavender & tea tree oil.
