I am so happy to be sharing this company & their products with you. I came across their website while searching for another product & saved it in my favorites to go back & look at because I was intrigued. When I went back to check it out & research I loved the concept & the Dark Chocolate flavors I read about made my mouth water. So I messaged them to see if they wanted to do a review & giveaway & let me help spread the word about what they do.Chocolate 001

So here I am doing just that, Spreading the word. I must give a shout out to Natalia ( Communication & Customer Service Coordinator at Endangered Species Chocolate). She has been great to work with & great at proving information about the company & all they do.

It is not every day I get to review natural Dark chocolate & spread the word about Endangered Species all in the same blog post. But here I am typing it & hoping my enthusiasm comes through to all of you.

Review:

I was sent 3 of Endangered Species chocolate bars to enjoy, & enjoy them we have. The company mailed them very fast & I must mention very safely packaged, no worries about your chocolate arriving damaged. I was very impressed.

Natural Dark Chocolate, with Pumpkin Spice  & Almonds:

We decided to open & try this flavor first, it has 72% dark chocolate, the animal featured on the wrapper & story inside the wrapper chocolate 005is the Arctic Fox, you can read about the fox, how it hunts  & about saving the Arctic fox. As we opened the chocolate that great pumpkin spice scent made our mouths water more. I shared with everyone (all 6 kids) as if this chocolate was gold or something they all lined up to get a square of chocolate & as each one took a bite I heard yumms, then I tried it & I love, love this flavor. Dark chocolate is an acquired taste for most but for us we already love good quality natural dark chocolate & we loved this chocolate bar.  (go here for more info)

Natural Dark Chocolate, With Vanilla Chai:

We like to savor our dark chocolate & enjoy it & eat it as treat, so it was several days before we opened this chocolate bar. 72% Dark Chocolate. The endangered animal featured on the wrapper & story in the wrapper is the Snow Leopard, you can read about the chocolate 004Snow Leopard’s beauty & how it is a stealth hunter. Again all the kids took their chocolate square, though it did not get immediate yumm raves like the other chocolate gradually it did get yumms from the kids. As I tasted it I understood, it was different so at first you are not sure if you like it or not, then the taste comes through & you do like it’s very unique taste. Not sure this chocolate bar is for everyone unless you love natural Dark Chocolate as much as we do. (go here for more info)

I saved this chocolate bar for last. 48% milk chocolate. The featured endangered animal on & in this wrapper is the Sea Otter, inside the wrapper you can learn about this otter, how to identify it, its swimming & more. This bar is natural milk chocolate & very chocolate 006smooth, we loved the rich taste & creaminess, a couple of my kids liked the texture of this bar the best. For me I still like the other 2 better but this one was not at all bad, I just prefer Darker chocolate. (go here for more info)

OUR STORY

Endangered Species Chocolate was born out of a desire to make an impact on the growing number of plant and animal species that are disappearing from Earth. With interests rooted in a deep love of chocolate making, Endangered Species Chocolate set out in 1993 to source natural, ethically traded chocolate as a carrier for an environmental message. Through the crafting of premium, thoughtfully sourced chocolate, Endangered Species Chocolate generates funds for conservation efforts worldwide.

OUR NAME SAYS IT ALL

“Why is your company called Endangered Species Chocolate?” We get that question a lot. See the sea turtles, chimpanzees, butterflies and rainforests on the face of our chocolate bar wrappers? Every time you purchase a bar, you raise support for species and habitats worldwide. Each year, Endangered Species Chocolate donates 10% of net profits to environmental non-profits that are focused on wildlife conservation and habitat preservation. Want to learn more about the species you are helping? Look inside each wrapper to learn more about the threatened species featured on your chocolate bar. (from website here)

OUR PROMISE. YOUR HELP.

With each chocolate bar, we are protecting diversity of life on our planet and promoting true global change. Endangered Species Chocolate donates 10% of net profits to organizations that support species conservation, habitat preservation and humanitarian efforts. (more info here)

WHAT IS ETHICAL TRADE?

We buy our cacao (the beanlike seed from which chocolate is made) from small family-owned properties. This practice helps sustain the habitats, species and communities in which these farms exist. Our ethical trade criteria ensure farmers humane working conditions and a fair price for their crop. (more info here)
